Life in Hirakawacho is known more for government and art functions than residential; however, we designed a space in Hirakawacho that will serve as a "hidden refuge" within the Tokyo metropolis. A quite, humble passageway that leads deep into the building, elegant residential apartments on every floor; a rooftop garden that provides an overwhelming view of Tokyo, and where you can feel the light and the wind. As you enter deeper into the building, privacy is complete but you feel liberated at the same time - this is how we created an "urban hidden refuge.
Ryu Kosaka

We aimed to design a new identity using lights in this area blessed with a good environment and deep culture. The class and hospitality of this building where work/residence are closely knitted together, are expressed through a mullion of light connecting the upper floors and the lower floors. The changing features of the lights are successfully expressed as lively landscape lighting.
